About Justis Freeman

Justis Freeman is a Research Associate at RFA. He brings an extensive background conducting research in higher education, K-12 schools, early childhood education, and out-of-school time programs. With expertise in program evaluation across various settings, Justis approaches research with a critical, justice-focused lens. He has engaged in a diverse mixed-methods research portfolio, including work with national leaders in higher education, early education policymakers, and foundations.

Justis is committed to research that prioritizes communities as research partners and solution informants. Through that commitment, his work seeks to achieve transformational educational, economic, and social change. Justis received a bachelor’s degree from Temple University in 2018. Before joining RFA again in 2025, Justis was with the Equity Research Cooperative and previously spent several years with RFA in various research roles.
