A Detroit-Area Early Childhood Education Workforce Study to Support Head Start Agencies in Recruiting and Retaining High-Quality Teachers

Released November 2018

This mixed-methods descriptive study was conducted in partnership with the Policy Equity Group in June-October 2018 to provide a description of the state and community context affecting the early childhood education workforce pipeline in Detroit; perspectives of higher education institutions on the pipeline; staff and recruitment challenges of current Detroit-area Head Start grantees; and workforce and professional development supports in local Head Start programs.
